Originally from South Windsor, Connecticut, Ethan has built a reputation through discipline, consistency, leadership, and a strong commitment to achieving excellence both on the field and in the classroom.
Growing up in South Windsor, Ethan was actively involved in athletics from an early age. He competed in football, basketball, baseball, and track and field, developing not only athletic versatility but also leadership skills that would later become central to his identity as a student-athlete. Throughout high school, Ethan became known for his competitiveness, composure under pressure, and ability to motivate teammates.
At South Windsor High School, Ethan excelled academically while also earning significant athletic recognition. Beyond sports, Ethan grew up in a close family environment alongside his younger brother Ryan. His mother and stepfather, Kimberly and David Mathog, both work in the insurance profession, while his father, David LaGuardia, works as a landscape foreman. Ethan frequently credits his family, particularly his mother, as one of his biggest influences and motivations, admiring her perseverance, work ethic, and resilience through challenges.
After graduating from South Windsor High School in 2023, Ethan continued his football career at Anna Maria College, where he played quarterback while continuing his academic development. In 2025, he transferred to Nichols College, where he currently plays quarterback for the Nichols football team while pursuing a degree in Sports Management with an anticipated graduation date of December 2027.
At Nichols College, Ethan has distinguished himself both academically and athletically. He earned Academic All-Conference recognition during the fall 2025 season, achieved President’s List honors with a GPA above 3.85, and was inducted into the Zeta Alpha Phi Scholastic Honor Society. His accomplishments reflect his belief in discipline, measurable goal-setting, and continuous self-improvement.
Outside of football and academics, Ethan has consistently remained involved in volunteer and community service initiatives. Through his Catholic faith and confirmation preparation, he completed community service activities including helping prepare meals for individuals in need. He also volunteered with the South Windsor High School football program to support fundraising efforts for Thanksgiving meals and currently participates in community reading programs for elementary school students alongside teammates at Nichols College.
Professionally, Ethan has also demonstrated a strong work ethic through several years of employment with Kelman Landscape, LLC in Manchester, Connecticut, where he has worked summers and winter breaks assisting with landscaping and snow removal operations.
Ethan’s philosophy toward success centers on making a positive impact while remaining aligned with personal values, discipline, and purpose. He emphasizes consistency, measurable goals, and maintaining composure under pressure as essential qualities for both athletic and personal success. His long-term aspirations include continuing to develop as a quarterback, completing his Sports Management degree, and building a successful future grounded in leadership, hard work, and integrity.
